Pale Barley is sort of a cool toned gold shade with taupey undertones and a very sophisticated, intricate style of shimmer. It is a very easy colour to wear and can be paired with a multitude of other colours. This eyeshadow has an extremely smooth and buttery formula, it's one of the best if not the best eyeshadow formula I've tried. The shadow can be overlooked as it looks quite plain and mundane in the pan but when swatched and applied it transforms and looks beautiful.
I tend to use the colour on its own paired with brown or black eyeliner as it looks amazing when showcased. Nonetheless, if used with other colours it adds something special, in my opinion, it's a colour I haven't seen before and even though I tend to wear darker shades I've been using this shade nonstop! On my lids (dry) it lasts up to 10 hours without a base and blends effortlessly. The pigmentation is high but also has a sheer quality to it where it is buildable giving the shadow more versatility. At the moment, in the UK as far as I know Burberry is carried at Harrods (£23) & Harvey Nichols (£22.50), it is expensive but when looking at the amount you receive, 2.5g (MAC 1.5g for £10 in pan form & £12 in pot form) it seems fair. Furthermore, the packaging has a magnetic closure, a nice weight to it and the Burberry print is on every part of the product down to the powder itself - having said that the whole of the Burberry beauty range has lovely luxurious packaging and great attention to detail. The packaging does attract finger prints but when that's the only con of a product - you know it's worth it, I highly recommend it!
